Washington Photo Safari - New York City: The Battery, Times Square Midtown, AND a Visit to AP!

This Safari is in such demand that we are pleased to  offer it a second time!

New York City, one of the greatest and most photogenic cities in the world, center of journalism and the arts, economic engine to the nation, looks gorgeous in your camera's viewfinder when seen from the rooftop terrace of the Associated Press headquarters in downtown Manhattan, our first stop on this weekend Safari thanks to a gracious invitation from AP President Tom Curley who will also take us on a tour of AP's most famous news photographs, including Joe Rosenthal's iconic image of the Marine Corps flag-raising at iwo Jima!

Then, led by architectural photographer (and ex-New Yorker) E. David Luria, this popular Safari will also take you on the Staten Island Ferry, through the Battery and Midtown Manhattan, and also Times Square at night to capture the vibrant spirit of this city. We will see great views of the New York skyline from the water, taking a water taxi to Brooklyn to see the Brooklyn Bridge. On Saturday morning we will amble through Central Park. We will photograph the Dakota Apartments (still home to Yoko Ono), the Sailboat Pond, the kids climbing all over the Alice In Wonderland statue, Fifth Avenue, the New York Public Library, AND we will end up in the magnificent atrium of Grand Central Station.

Offered Saturday, October 25 at 1:00 pm through Sunday, October 26 at 4:00 pm. $225 per person, includes Safari instruction and water taxi.
